Lake Manyara National Park, a jewel of northern Tanzania, offers visitors an enchanting blend of stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife, and unique ecological zones. Established in 1960, Lake Manyara National Park spans approximately 325 square kilometers (125 square miles), with the soda lake itself covering about two-thirds of this area. Nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley, the park boasts a variety of landscapes, including lush groundwater forests, open savannah, acacia woodlands, and the expansive lake shore.

 

Key Attractions

Tree-Climbing Lions

One of the park's most unique features is its population of tree-climbing lions. These lions can often be seen lounging in acacia trees, a rare behavior that adds a special charm to wildlife viewing in the park.

The shallow, alkaline lake is a haven for birdlife, attracting over 400 bird species. Vast flocks of flamingos create a pink spectacle along the shores, joined by pelicans, storks
